WEA continues to provide choice for growers

Wheat Exports Australia (WEA) continues to assist Australian wheat growers in a deregulated
wheat export market, through the accreditation of another three companies today.

The additional companies accredited for export are:
• Emerald Group Australia Pty Ltd
• Bunge Agribusiness Australia Pty Ltd
• Queensland Cotton Corporation Pty Ltd

These companies bring the total number of companies accredited for export to 19.
Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of WEA, Peter Woods, said WEA will continue to assess
new applications as they are received, and review existing accredited companies.

“WEA has acted in the best interest of the Australian wheat grower and endeavours to provide a
timely assessment of applicants for the 2008/09 harvest,” Mr Woods said.

“This is the first time in more than 60 years Australian wheat growers have been able to choose who
they sell their grain to, based on the best deal.

The Wheat Export Accreditation Scheme under the Wheat Export Marketing Act 2008 came into
effect on 1 July 2008 with the aim of providing similar benefits offered by the deregulation of the
domestic wheat market in 1989.

WEA does not indemnify exporters or provide guarantees relating to growers contracts or payments
of any kind - the sale and marketing of wheat remains the responsibility of the grower.

Further details on companies accredited for export, and conditions of accreditation, can be viewed
on WEA’s online Register of Accredited Exports at www.wea.gov.au.
